In the hospital I work – 100 beds, visits to patients for nutrition care have been restricted and dietitians interview patients by phone.
The problem is that diet orders are paper based (electronic means not ready yet) and the dietitian is responsible for taking and process the order. Now, we are thinking alternative online diet prescriptions. Also patients menus are planned by the dietitian according to diet order, patient needs and preferences and indicated in paper sheets for the assistants to serve the meals. We are now challenged to find new ways of doing that process remotely or with minimal number of dietitians going to the hospital.
