Walking through unique Hong Kong culinary treasures with local RDNs

IAAND Culinary Tour updates from IAAND Country Rep of Hong Kong, Charmain Tan, RDN,AD

On 8 July, 2018, on the last day of ACD2018, 50 dietitians from 15 different countries had joined the IAAND Culinary Tour – Walking through unique Hong Kong culinary treasures with local RDNs.  We had dim sum lunch banquet at Symphony by Jade in Tsim Sha Tsui followed by an informative presentation from Dr Priscilla Samuel on Stevia. We six Tour Guide RDNs also took turn to showcase Food and Culture of Hong Kong. After the delicious dessert and a group picture, we took off to Wan Chai via ferry. It was a short fun ride (after a heavy rain), here’s the video to witnessWe also had a great time walking thru the market, some got to taste the Hong Kong’s popular egg tarts and buns the local bakery.  Here’s the video of walking tour I created. It’s truly my honor to be part of the first and ever IAAND CPE provided RDNs Guided Culinary Tour, a total of 2 CPE have been awarded. On behalf of Tour Guide RDNs and IAAND Professional Development Committee, I would like to thank you all for the support, understanding and cooperation to make this a safe and sound one. We are hoping to offer more Culinary Tour in future. We had also received lots of positive feedback on our presentation so with your encouragement, we are planning to making it a webinar so that more people can be benefit from it. So stay tuned.
